The Grande Arche de la Defense is one of the most important landmarks in the area, easily describable as the bind between old ideas and modern means. It represents a modern representation of the famous Arc de Triomphe, although its symmetrical shapes reminds the viewer more of a Hypercube.
The project , was started by the French president Francois Mitterand and presents a 106 meters white building with the middle part left open. The sides of the structure are occupied by offices, but you can take the elevator to the last floor of the building where, for a fee of 7.50 Euro, you can enjoy the marvelous view over Paris, along with some works of art made by some more or less known artists.
